Dismantling and assembling the cylinder

34.3.3 Assembling the rod seal and the
support ring
• Check that the ram is not damaged.
NOTE!
If the piston is scratched or in any other way damaged it should be re-
placed to avoid leakage after assembly.
• Position the support ring on the ram.
• Position the rod seal on the ram.
34.3.4 Dismantling the ram
• Remove the rod seal and the support ring.
• Knock and heat the ram a little, if necessary.
• Unscrew the ram using a pipe wrench.
• Brush off any old flange sealant.
34.3.5 Assembling the ram
• Apply OMNI 230 on the threads.
• Screw in the ram using a hook spanner.
• Take care to wipe off all surplus sealant.
34.3.6 Assembling the cylinder
• Insert the rod in the cylinder tube.
• Fit the top sleeve on the rod. Use a rubber mallet to knock it on if
necessary.
• Screw in the top sleeve a few turns in the cylinder tube.
• Apply flange sealant FD 1042 on the threads.
• Tighten using a hook spanner.
NOTE!
Long curing time.
Too early usage can cause leakage.
The curing time for the flange sealant is 4 hours. The cylinder must
not be used before this.
