Step 1
From the Node drop-down menu choose the node where the circuit will originate.
Step 2
From the Slot drop-down menu choose the slot containing the optical card where the circuit originates.
(If a card's capacity is fully utilized, it does not appear in the menu.)
Step 3
Depending on the circuit origination card, choose the source port and/or STS from the Port and STS
sub-menus. The Port menu is only available if the card has multiple ports. STSs are not displayed if they
are already in use by other circuits.

The routing preferences for the new drop will match those of the original circuit. However, you can
modify the following:
If the original circuit was routed on a protected path, you can change the nodal diversity options:
Required, Desired, Don't Care; Link Diverse only. See

you create an STS-3c circuit on an OC-12 card in a path protection, only four STSs are available.
If you create an STS-3c circuit on an OC-12 card in a BLSR, two STSs are available because of
the BLSR protection characteristics.
