Because all traffic cards boot from the working XTC card, at least one XTC card must be installed in

order to boot any traffic cards.
Step 1
Install an XTC card in Slot 6
a.
Open the card ejectors.
Slide the card along the guide rails into the slot.
b.
Close the ejectors.
c.
Lock the cards into place by tightening the ejector locking screws.
d.
Slot 6 is the working XTC card slot.
Verify that the red FAIL LED blinks for approximately 30 seconds.

Verify that all LEDs blink once and turn off.
After approximately 5 minutes, verify the ACT/STBY LED is green (active).
Step 4
Install the second XTC card in Slot 5.
Step 5
Slot 5 is the protect XTC slot.
After the LED boot sequence (Steps

indicates that the second XTC card is the standby XTC.
Press the LAMP TEST button on the faceplate of each XTC and verify that all LEDs illuminate while

When you log into CTC, verify that the card appears in the correct slot on the node view screen and that
