Powering On the TSQ 9000 System

To power-on the TSQ 9000 system:
1. Install the GC column if you have not already done so (see
2. Be sure the GC is powered on and there is carrier gas flowing through the column into
the TSQ 9000 system.
CAUTION INSTRUMENT DAMAGE: If you power-on the TSQ 9000 instrument without
column flow, air is drawn through the column, which could damage the instrument. This
large air leak may also require that you clean the ion source.

3. Open the front door of the instrument and tighten the vent valve knob. Then close the
front door of the instrument.
4. Reach over to the left side of the instrument and pull up on the power switch to power-on
the TSQ 9000 mass spectrometer.
