Installing the CHAP component

To install the CHAP component, follow these steps.
1. The guided installation is open. Start Avaya Chap. The Welcome dialog opens.
2. Click Next. The Setup Type dialog opens.
3. Use the default setting Complete.
4. Click Next. The General setting dialog opens. Enter the following settings.
Settings
Hostname of Corba
Naming Service
Port
Host name of Trace
system server
Port
use ORB port (0=default)
5. Click Next. The Ready to Install the program dialog opens. The list shows sample settings.
install Feature Chap
install Feature ChapSync
install Feature AvayaTSAPI
InstallDir = C:\Program Files\AvayaChap\
NameServer Hostname = vmw2k3 Port = 2809
DBServer Hostname = vmw2k3 Port = 2809
TTraceServer Hostname = vmw2k3 - Port = 10300
6. Click Install. The installation takes about 10 seconds.
7. Click Finish.

Explanation
Specifies the host name or TCP/IP address of the OmniOrb server.
Shows the port of the OmniOrb name server. Port 2809 is the default.
Specifies the host name or TCP/IP address of the TTrace server.
Indicates the port of the TTrace server. Port 10300 is the default.
Indicates the port of the CORBA communication.
If you use the default setting 0, then for the CORBA communication
an arbitrary port is used. This port is assigned dynamically.
If you use a firewall, then you must set the port for the CORBA
communication firmly and release the appropriate port in the firewall
settings.
