Hold it as shown for removal, thereby
facilitating the work.
21) Place the photosensitive drum unit so that
the protrusion on the flange at the rear is at
the bottom (i.e., the drum heater friction
plate is at the bottom).
Caution:
The photosensitive drum is susceptible to
light, and exposure to light for a long
time can lead to white spots or black
bands on copies.
Whenever you have removed the
photosensitive drum from the copier,
wrap it with the light-blocking sheet (or
five to six sheets of fresh copy paper),
and keep it in a dark place.
Reference:
If the photosensitive drum is exposed to
light of 600 lux for 1 min and is kept in a
dark place for 24 hr thereafter, it may
recover to more or less normal condition
(not
affecting
Nevertheless, take care not to subject it
to direct sunlight. (Rays of the sun
typically are 10000 to 30000 lux.)
3. When Replacing the
Photosensitive Drum
When installing a new photosensitive
drum, perform the following:
1) Mount the new photosensitive drum.
2) Mount the primary charging assembly,
post-cleaning
photosensitive drum cleaner assembly,
and developing assembly.
