5. Align the wheel rim with the studs on the hub. Push the
wheel onto the hub.
6. Install and hand-tighten wheel nuts (A).
IMPORTANT:
To prevent damage to the wheel rims and the studs, do
NOT use an impact wrench to tighten the nuts. The stud
threads must be clean and dry. Do NOT apply lubricant or
anti-seize compound to the stud threads. Do NOT
overtighten the wheel nuts.
7. Torque the drive wheel nuts. For instructions, refer to
Tightening Drive Wheel Nuts, page
8. Repeat the tightening sequence two additional times. Ensure that the specified torque is achieved each time.
9. Lower the windrower. For instructions, refer to
Wheels – Forklift Method, page
10. Repeat the wheel nut torquing procedure every hour of operation until two consecutive checks confirm that there is
no movement of the nuts.
Lowering Drive Wheels – Jack Method
This procedure is for using a jack to lower a drive wheel when it is raised on a jack stand.
DANGER
To prevent bodily injury or death from the unexpected startup of the machine, always stop the engine and remove the
key from the ignition before leaving the operator's seat for any reason.
CAUTION
Jack stand must be capable of supporting a minimum of 2268 kg (5000 lb.).
1. Shut down the engine, and remove the key from the ignition.
