WARNING
To prevent serious injury or death from loss of control:
• Do NOT make abrupt changes in steering direction.
• Anticipate turns and steep slopes by slowing down well in advance. Before making an abrupt turn, pull back on the
ground speed lever (GSL), as steering is more responsive at reduced speeds.
• Do NOT rapidly accelerate or decelerate while turning.
When traveling on steep slopes:
• Move the GSL closer to NEUTRAL to reduce the windrower's speed.
• Lower the header.
• If the ground speed is greater than or equal to 51 km/h (30 mph), the HarvestTouch
message (SLOW DOWN) with an audible alert. Move the GSL closer to NEUTRAL to reduce speed.
With the header removed, steering control is reduced if weight is not added to drive wheels. If you must drive the
windrower without a header or MacDon weight system:
• Do NOT exceed the minimum speed setting.
• Avoid loose gravel and slopes.
• Do NOT tow a header.
• If you lose control of the windrower, immediately pull the GSL to NEUTRAL.

Spin Turning

Hydrostatic steering provides significantly more maneuverability than mechanical steering.
CAUTION
Be sure the area is clear before making turns. Although the windrower pivots on the spot, the ends of the header travel
faster and in a large arc.
1. Move ground speed lever (GSL) (A) out of PARK towards the
seat and hold.
2. Slowly turn the steering wheel in the direction in which you
want to turn. The windrower will pivot between the
drive wheels.
3. To increase the turn radius, slowly move the GSL away from
NEUTRAL.
NOTE:
Remember that this will increase ground speed as well.
4. To stop the turn, slowly turn the steering wheel back to its
centered position.
