distributes different keys to each user. Personal WPA utilizes less scalable 'pre-shared key' (PSK)
mode, where every allowed computer is given the same passphrase. In PSK mode, security depends
on the strength and secrecy of the passphrase. The design of WPA is based on a Draft 3 of the IEEE
802.11i standard (Wikipedia).
WPS
WPS is an acronym for Wi-Fi Protected Setup. It is a standard for easy and secure establishment of a
wireless home network. The goal of the WPS protocol is to simplify the process of connecting any
home device to the wireless network (Wikipedia).
WRED
WRED is an acronym for Weighted Random Early Detection. It is an active queue management
mechanism that provides preferential treatment of higher priority frames when traffic builds up
within a queue. A frame's DP level is used as input to WRED. A higher DP level assigned to a frame
results in a higher probability that the frame is dropped during times of congestion.
WTR
WTR is an acronym for Wait To Restore. This is the time a failure on a resource must be 'not active'
before restoration back to this (previously failing) resource is done.
