Check for a short in the wires
(MIL line):
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect the ECM connec-
tor A (26P).
3. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
Is the MIL ON?
Substitute a known-good ECM
and recheck. If symptom/indica-
tion goes away, replace the origi-
nal ECM.

Inspect ACG(S) (20 A) fuse in the
engine compartment fuse/relay
box.
Is the fuse OK?
Inspect IG COIL (30 A) fuse in the
engine compartment fuse/relay
box.
Is the fuse OK?
Check for a short in a sensor:
1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
2. Disconnect the 3P connector
of each sensor one at time:
• MAP sensor
• TP sensor
• EGR valve lift sensor
Does the MIL remain ON?

Repair short to body ground in
the wire between the ECM (A7)
and MIL.
Repair short in the wire
between ACG(S) (20 A) fuse
and PGM-FI main relay.
Replace ACG(S) (20 A) fuse.
Repair short in the wire
between IG COIL (30 A) fuse
and PGM-FI main relay.
Replace IG COIL (30 A) fuse.
Replace the sensor that caused
the light to go out.
