냉각수 및 관리
냉각수와 시스템의 점검
냉각수는 사용함에 따라 오염되거나 증발에 의해서 그
특성이 변할 수 있다. 따라서, 냉각수뿐만 아니라 시스템
은 운전 중에 주기적으로, 가능하면 일주일에 한번은 점
검되어야 한다. 이러한 테스트는 순환중인 냉각수를 체취
하여 방지제 메이커가 제공하는 테스트 킷을 이용할 수
도 있다. 그러나, 전문가에 의한 냉각수의 시험은 정기적
으로 적어도 3개월마다 실시하는 것이 바람직하다.
모든 점검 결과는 기록 및 보존되어야 하고, 그 추이를
분석하여야 한다. 이것은 올바른 냉각수 처리와 함께 신
뢰할 수 있는 엔진 운전에 도움이 된다.
만일 테스트 결과에서 냉각수의 성분이 갑자기 혹은
점진적으로 변화되었다면, 그 원인 분석을 위해 냉각수
시스템을 점검하여야 한다. 변화들 중에는 다음과 같은
사항이 원인이 될 수 있는 것이 있다.
염화물 성분이 증가할 때 :
해수가 냉각수로 침투하였는지 그 가능성을 점검한
다.
해수를 포함하는 시스템 예를 들어, 해수에 의해 냉
각된 청수 냉각기 등을 점검한다.

pH 값이 감소하거나 유황 성분이 증가할 때 :
냉각수가 배기 가스에 의해서 오염되었는지를 점검
한다.
실린더 헤드를 수압 테스트로 검사한다.

Checking Cooling Water and the System
The property of the cooling water may be changed
during service due to contamination or evaporation.
Therefore, the cooling water itself and the system
should be checked periodically during service,
preferably once a week. These tests may be done by
means of test kits from inhibitor maker with sample
water from
laboratory test of the sample water by specialist is
also recommended regularly at least every three
month.
All checking results should be recorded and kept
for trend evaluation, which contribute to reliable
engine operation with right cooling water treatment.
If test result shows that the contents of cooling
water changes suddenly or gradually, the cooling
water system should be checked to trace the cause.
Some of the changes may indicate the cause as
follows:
Chloride content increasing:
Check possibility of seawater penetrating into
cooling water.
Check the system which includes sea water, for
example fresh water cooler cooled by sea water.
pH value
increasing:
Check if cooling water is contaminated by
exhaust gas.
Check cylinder head by hydraulic pressure test.
