minutes after the request vmhost halt command has been issued. To reboot a Routing Engine
that has been halted, you must connect through the console.
On the console or other management device connected to the other Routing Engine, enter CLI
operational mode and issue the following command.
user@host> request chassis cb offline slot
n is 0 or 1 for the slot number of the host subsystem being taken offline.
4. Verify that the Control Board is offline:
user@host> show chassis environment cb

Remove the backup Routing Engine from the chassis:
1. Power off the backup Routing engine gracefully.
2. Place an electrostatic bag or antistatic mat on a flat, stable surface. Attach an electrostatic discharge
(ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist and connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the
chassis.
