Upgrading the SCB in the Backup Routing Engine

NOTE:
Do not add or remove any router hardware during the upgrade
procedure.
TIP:
MX240 has two slots for SCB—that is, SCB0 and SCB1—and these
correspond to RE0 and RE1, respectively, where SCB1 is the first SCB.
To upgrade the SCB in the backup Routing Engine:
Power down the backup Routing Engine from the master Routing Engine by issuing

Verify that the Routing Engine is powered down by issuing the

command. The slot of the Routing Engine may be 0 or 1, and is shown
routing-engine 1
as 1 in this example:

Verify that the Current State is Present, which indicates that the Routing Engine is
offline.
Take the fabric plane offline by issuing the

command. SCB1 has four fabric planes numbered, 4, 5, 6, and 7.
Verify that the fabric plane is offline by issuing the

user@host> show chassis fabric summary

Verify that the 'State' of Plane 4 is Offline.
Take the remaining fabric planes offline by issuing the

command—that is, by changing the fabric plane number each time. Verify
5/6/7 offline
that the fabric planes are offline by issuing the command given in Step 2.
Take the SCB in slot 1 offline by issuing the
