2-2 Installation limits
Both horizontal and vertical mounting is safe if there is sufficient clearance and the brake resistor is installed
in the correct position. Take notice on the following:
 Do not install brake resistors on another brake resistor or above any hot air source .
(Do not mount as shown in Figure 7-9)
 When mounting vertically, the cable connection should not be on the top of the brake resistor.
(Do not mount as shown in Figure 7-10)

Select the resistance value, power and brake usage (ED %) according to Delta rules.
For safety, install a thermal overload relay (O.L) between the brake unit and the brake resistor in
conjunction with the magnetic contactor (MC) before the drive for additional protection. The thermal overload
relay protects the brake resistor from damage due to frequent or continuous braking. Under such
circumstances, turn off the power to prevent damage to the brake resistor, brake unit and drive.
