NIC (Network Interface Controller)

PAL (Physical Abstract Layer)
Firmware that provides platform initialization
and operating system boot functions
Partition
System equipped with the functions of a
processing unit. Each partition contains
software resources such as an OS and
applications as well as hardware resources such
as SBs and IO Units.
PCI_Box
Device used for PCI slot expansion
PCI Hot Plug
Technology that enables PCI cards to be
mounted and removed while the system is
operating
PCI (Peripheral Component
Interconnect)
Bus architecture established by PCI SIG for
