You can detect the status of the E4981A by using the status register, as
described in this section. For information on the entire status report system (for
example, information on each bit of the status register), refer to
"Status Reporting
The measurement state is indicated by the operation status register. An SRQ
(service request) is useful for detecting the completion of measurement in your
program by using the information indicated by this register.
To detect the completion of measurement using SRQ, use the following
commands.

The procedure is given below.
Step 1.
Make the setup so that the E4981A generates an SRQ if bit 4 of the operation
status event register is set to 1.
Step 2.
Trigger the instrument to start a measurement.
Step 3.
Perform interrupt handling in the program when the SRQ occurs.
