Section 2: General operation
Higher pulse voltage can be output by connecting two (and only two) Model 2651A instrument's
channels in series. When combining two SMU channels, make sure both SMUs have the same model
number.
The following figure illustrates two Model 2651As configured with the two channels connected in
series to output up to 80 V (40 V per channel).
Whenever hazardous voltage (>30 V RMS, 42 V peak) will be output, a safety shield must completely
surround the DUT test circuit. When using a metal safety shield, it must be connected to a known
safety earth ground and chassis ground.

(2) Second Model 2651A: SMU maximum pulse voltage: +40 V
(3) Series SMU maximum pulse voltage (as shown): 80 V
