To enable SPAN on the IDSM-2, follow these steps:
Log in to the console.
Enter privileged mode:
Console> enable
Enable SPAN to the IDSM-2 from a source port:
Console> (enable) set span
idsm_module port_number [rx | tx | both] [filter vlans...]

Use the filter keyword and variable to monitor traffic on specific VLANs

Enable SPAN to the IDSM-2 from a VLAN:
Console> (enable) set span
Disable all SPAN traffic to the IDSM-2:
Console> (enable) set span disable
