4. Install screws securing upper and lower end
of air outlet grille.
15. Shroud Side Vent Duct Air Outlet
Removal and Installation
1. Remove shroud side foundation, Note 14.
2. Remove screws securing outlet to shroud
panel, disengage cable from pin on door and re-
move outlet, Fig. 16-16.
3. To install, apply a bead of medium-bodied
sealer to shroud panel at perimeter of air outlet
opening in shroud panel.
4. Connect control cable to door pin and
position outlet to shroud panel.
5. Install outlet to shroud panel screws, and in-
stall shroud side foundation, Note 14.

Door Removal and Installation
1. Remove shroud side foundation, Note 14.
2. Remove end control cable from door pin,
Fig. 16-16.
3. Pry hinge pin downward and remove door.
4. To install, pry door hinge pin downward to
position outlet door.
5. Connect end of control cable to door pin.
6. Install shroud side foundation, Note 14.
HEADLINING AND FABRIC ROOF COVERING
This section not only covers headlining and fabric roof covering but in addition
provides information on removal and installation of side roof rail weatherstrips.
Information for the covering of convertibles is given later in a separate section.
17. Headlining
Removal and Installation
CAUTION: Clean hands and tools are es-
sential when working with headlining material.
The headlining assembly is formed to the con-
tour of the roof panel by concealed listing wires.
Both ends of the listing wires are installed into
holes in the side roof rail assemblies. The head-
lining is secured at the windshield and back win-
dow and at the side roof rails by cement and tacks
or staples.
a. Removal
1. Place protective coverings over seat cush-
ions and backs.
2. Prior to removing headlining, remove fol-
lowing hardware and trim assemblies if present:
