b. Installation
1. Clean all old sealer from cavity of wind-
shield rubber channel.
2. Apply a mild soap solution to cavity and
outer lip of rubber channel.
3. Place windshield glass in rubber channel.
4. Working from inside of body with a screw^
driver or other suitable tool, work inner lip of
windshield channel over pinchweld flange, up each
side and across top.
CAUTION: Do not attempt to position glass
by tapping or hammering at any time.
5. Using a pressure-type applicator, seal inner
and outer lips of rubber channel to glass with an
approved weatherstrip adhesive, shown at 4 in
Fig. 16-14. Seals are to extend completely around
rubber channel.
6. On outside of windshield, apply medium-
bodied sealer between windshield rubber channel
and opening across top and sides, 5 in Fig. 16-14.
7. Clean off excess sealer.
8. Re-install all previously removed parts
in reverse sequence and remove protective
coverings.
14. Shroud Side Foundation
Removal and Installation
1. Remove screws securing upper and lower
end of air outlet grille, Fig. 16-15.
2. Slide foundation forward to disengage rear
edge of foundation from retainer and remove
foundation.
3. To install, position rear edge of foundation
to retainer, and press downward as necessary on
foundation to minimize any gap at carpet edge.
