DIAGNOSIS OF MINOR RADIO TROUBLES
CONDITION
Dead
Weak
Intermittent
Noisy
Poor Tone
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Blown fuse.
Antenna open or shorted.
Poor ground.
Poor solder connection.
Selector tube shorted
(AM radios only).
Defective transistor.
Antenna not extended.
Antenna trimmer not adjusted.
Antenna open or shorted.
Poor antenna connection.
Poor solder connection.
Poor ground.
Low battery.
Loose antenna connection.
Intermittent shorting of Selec-
tor tube (AM radios only).
Intermittent solder connection.
Local interference.
Station signal weak.
Antenna open or shorted.
Static noise.
Spark noise.
Installation defects.
Regulator noise.
