2. Place blower and inlet assembly in position
against cowl and mounting studs, and install two
screws and five nuts.
3. Install vacuum hose on vacuum diaphragm.
4. Attach blower motor feed wire.
5. Connect blower motor ground wire.
6. Position antenna lower mounting bracket to
dust shield and install screw.
4. Heater Blower Assembly—Front
Removal and Installation
(75 Series)
The following procedure pertains to non-Air
Conditioned cars only. The procedure for re-
moving and installing the blower motor on Air
Conditioned cars is described in Note 51.
a. Removal
1. Lower antenna.
2. Raise front end of car, place on jack stands,
and remove right front wheel.
3. Remove right front fender rear dust shield.
4. Remove radio antenna as described in Sec-
tion 12, Note 91a.
5. Disconnect motor ground wire.
6. Disconnect motor feed wire.
7. If blower motor is to be replaced, remove
five screws securing blower motor and fan as-
sembly to blower housing, and remove motor and
fan assembly through fender opening.
8. Loosen clamp that holds rubber boot to inlet
duct and remove boot from inlet duct.
9. Remove nine screws securing blower housing
cover plate to cowl, remove plate and rubber
gasket through fender opening.
b. Installation
1. Position rubber gasket on blower housing
cover plate, position plate against cowl, and in-
stall nine screws.
2. If previously removed, position blower motor
and fan assembly to blower housing cover plate
and secure with five screws.
3. Attach blower motor feed wire.
4. Connect blower motor ground wire.
5. Position rubber boot on inlet duct and in-
stall clamp.
6. Install radio antenna as described in Section
12, Note 91b.
7. Install fender dust shield.
8. Install wheel and lower car.
5. Heater Inlet Duct Assembly—Front
Removal and Installation
(75 Series)
The following procedure pertains to non-Air
Conditioned cars only. The procedure for remov-
ing and installing blower and inlet assembly on
Air Conditioned cars is described in Note 54.
a. Removal
1. Drain cooling system.
2. Disconnect wires from resistor panel on
heater inlet duct.
3. Remove vacuum hose from vacuum power
unit on blower housing.
4. Loosen clamp that holds rubber boot to blow-
er housing and disconnect boot.
5. Remove clamps securing heater hoses to
fittings on heater assembly and remove hoses.
It may be necessary to disconnect #8 spark plug
wire to remove bottom heater hose.
6. Identify heater inlet and outlet hoses so that
they can be installed properly.
7. Remove six nuts securing heater inlet duct
to mounting studs and remove duct and rubber
gasket.
b. Installation
1. Position rubber gasket on heater duct and
install duct assembly to cowl, securing with six
nuts.
2. Install heater inlet and outlet hoses and in-
stall hose clamps. Replace #8 spark plug wire if
removed.
3. Install rubber boot on blower housing and
install clamp.
4. Install vacuum hose on vacuum power unit.
5. Install wires on resistor panel terminals.
6. Fill cooling system.
