Regulator Cam Lubrication
r. Front Seat Adjuster Mechanism—Manually
Operated
Apply a thin film of lubricant to the seat tracks
as needed, or during repairs.
s. Front Seat Adjuster Mechanism*- Electrically
Operated
Thoroughly wipe old lubricant from jackscrew.
Apply a thin film of lubricant to jackscrew, being
careful not to soil seat trim. Operate the seat
adjuster to limit of all positions. Apply a small
amount of dripless oil to linkage and wipe off
excess lubricant.
FRONT END
This section includes Notes 4 through 16. It covers servicing of windshield wiper transmissions,
arms and linkages, ventilator parts, garnish moldings and reveal moldings, and windshield glass.
4. Windshield Wiper Arm
Removal and Installation
0. (Except 75 Series and Commercial Chassis)
1. Position Windshield Wiper Arm Remover,
J-8966, over lower section of arm, Fig. 16-6.
2. Press downward on tool to disengage arm
assembly from transmission shaft and remove
arm assembly by lifting up.
3. To install, position tool over lower section
of arm, compress, and guide assembly on trans-
mission shaft.
NOTE: When installing the wiper arm as-
semblies, be sure the left blade is above the
right blade in park position.

b. (75 Series and Commerical Chassis)
1. Remove arm and blade assembly by pulling
outer section of arm assembly toward center of
car to disengage cam follower from cam ring.
2. Pull outward on lower section of arm to
remove assembly from transmission shaft.
3. To install, position arm assembly on trans-
mission shaft. Pull outward on upper section of
arm to engage cam follower with cam ring.
5. Shroud Top Ventilator Grille
Removal and Installation
1. Place protective coverings over hood and
fenders.
2. Remove windshield wiper arm and blade as-
semblies as described in Note 4.
3. Using Windshield Wiper Transmission Span-
ner Wrench, J-6598-02, remove escutcheon, span-
ner nut, and washer. On 75 series and commercial
chassis use Tool J-6592-02 to remove cam span-
ner nut and cam. Use opposite end of J-6592-02
to remove escutcheon spanner nut and washer.
4. Lift escutcheon away from grille.
5. Remove screws securing grille to ventilator
frame.

6. Carefully
raise grille, disengage washer
hoses and remove grille.
