INSTRUMENT PANEL
2. Disconnect 3-way electric connector from
back of switch and remove switch.
b. Installation
1. Connect 3-way electric connector to switch
and press switch into opening in steering column
lower cover.
13. Ignition Switch
Removal and Installation
a. Removal
1. Disconnect negative battery cable at battery.
2. Remove steering column lower cover as des-
cribed in Note 2a.
3. Remove ignition lock assembly using a .035
inch diameter wire (paper clip) to depress tumbler
pin while turning ignition key to left and pulling
outward.
4. Remove ignition switch retaining ring, using
Ignition Switch Wrench, J-21109, Fig. 15-7.
5. Disconnect ignition switch 4-way connector
from back of ignition switch and remove light
bulb socket.
6. Remove switch through rear of instrument
panel.
b. Installation
1. Install ignition switch into instrument panel
from rear.
2. Connect 4-way connector to rear of switch
and install light: socket.
3. Install ignition lock assembly using a .035
inch diameter wire to depress tumbler pin while
turning ignition lock to right. Remove wire.
4. Install retaining ring and tighten securely,
using Ignition Switch Wrench, J-21109, Fig. 15-7.
5. Install steering column k»eer cover as de-
scribed in Note 2b.
6. Connect negative battery cable at battery.
14. Heater—Ventilation Control
Assembly Removal and Installation
a. Removal
1. Remove upper instrument panel cover as de-
scribed in Note la.
2. Remove steering column lower cover as de-
scribed in Note 2a.
3. Remove clip washers holding bowden cables
on control lever pins.
4. Loosen bowden cable clamps and disconnect
cables from control levers.
5. Disconnect vacuum hoses from vacuum
fittings.
6. Remove two screws holding control assembly
to instrument panel.
7. Disconnect two light bulb sockets from bot-
tom of control assembly.
8. Disconnect 4-way electric connector and 2-
way connectors.
9. Remove control assembly from instrument
panel.
b. Installation
1. Place control assembly in instrument panel
and connect 4-way electric connector and 2-way
connectors to assembly.
2. Install two light bulb sockets in bottom of
assembly.
3. Install bowden cables on control lever pins
and install clip washers.
4. Install two screws that hold control assembly
to instrument panel.

5. Connect vacuum hoses to vacuum fittings.
