ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
90. Rear Seat Remote Control Unit
Removal and Installation
75 Series Cars
a. Removal
1. Remove rear seat cushion.
2. Push back on seat back top molding and re-
move molding.
3. Remove four molding retaining clips from
parcel shelf.
4. Pull down on center arm rest and remove
two fabric retaining screws and two cap screws
that secure seat back to body braces.
5. Straighten four retaining clips along bottom
of seat back.
6. Pull out on bottom of seat back and lift seat
back up and off retaining brackets, and remove
seat back.
7. Remove rear quarter window molding and
trim pad assembly.
8. Remove Allen screw holding ON-OFF volume
control knob on remote control unit shaft and re-
move knob.
9. Lift spring and sensitiivity control ring from
remote control unit shaft.
10. Remove arm rest attaching screws and re-
move arm rest assembly from rear quarter
panel.
11. Disconnect electrical connector from heater
switch and, where present, electrical conector
from air conditioner switch.
12. Disconnect electrical connector from radio
remote control unit.
13. Remove spanner nut on top of arm rest
assembly, holding remote control unit to arm rest
assembly.
14. Remove remote control unit by pulling shaft
through arm rest assembly from underneath arm
rest assembly.
b. Installation
1. Insert remote control unit shaft through arm
rest assembly from underneath.
2. Install spanner nut securing remote control
unit shaft to top of arm rest assembly.
3. Connect electrical connector to remote con-
trol unit.
4. Connect electrical connectors to heater
switch and, where present, to air conditioner
switch.
5. Position arm rest assembly against rear
quarter panel and secure with attaching screws.
6. Position sensitivity control ring on remote
control unit shaft.
7. Install spring on top of sensitivity control
ring on remote control unit shaft.
8. Place ON-OFF volume control knob on re-
mote control unit shaft, pressing downward on
knob to overcome spring tension, and install
Allen screw to lock knob to shaft.
9. Install rear quarter trim pad assembly and
window molding.
10. Position seat back to engage top in retain-
ing brackets and bend four retaining clips over
hooks along bottom of seat back.
11. Secure seat back to body braces with two
cap screws in area of center arm rest, and re-
place arm rest fabric. Secure fabric with two
screws.
12. Install four molding retaining clips on top
edge of parcel shelf.
13. Install seat back top molding.
14. Install rear seat cushion.
91. Antenna Removal and Installation
a. Removal
1. Lower antenna.
2. Disconnect motor leads at plastic connector.
3. Raise hood, reach under fender and loosen
clamp screw retaining antenna to escutcheon.
4. Remove screw holding antenna and bracket
to right fender dustshield.
5. Disconnect antenna lead-in cable from sup-
port tube.
6. Remove antenna assembly from beneath car.
7. Escutcheon may be removed by removing
retaining spring and pushing escutcheon out
through top of fender.
b. Installation
1. install escutcheon and retaining spring if
previously removed.
