4. Remove right transmission and linkage as-
sembly as an integral unit.
5. Repeat steps 2, 3, and 4 on left transmission.
NOTE: To remove transmissions and link-
ages as a complete unit, remove clip retaining
main drive linkage to wiper motor unit crank
arm.
Remove three transmission mounting
screws on right and left sides; then remove
three screws securing linkage at pivot area
and carefully remove entire linkage assembly.
6. Install by positioning transmissions and link-
ages in the shroud top and install transmission
mounting screws. Install retaining screws at
pivot area and all retaining clips. Then install
the shroud top ventilator frame.
8. Windshield Garnish Moldings
Removal and Installation
The windshield garnish moldings consist of an
upper right and left, and a side right and left on
all styles. All moldings are secured by screws.
1. Place protective covering over front seat
and instrument panel.
2. Remove side moldings first, then upper
moldings.
NOTE: On 67 styles remove side garnish
molding attaching screws. Raise top, remove
screw attaching side reveal to windshield
header, pry up corner of side reveal molding
overlapping windshield header and remove side
garnish molding. Remove sunshade supports
prior to removing upper garnish moldings.
3. Install upper garnish moldings first, then
side moldings.
9. Rear View Mirror Support
Removal and Installation
1. Remove one side of upper garnish molding.
2. Remove support attaching screws, slide sup-
port to one side and remove.
3. To install, position mirror support into pro-
per place and secure with support attaching
screws.
4. Install upper windshield garnish molding.
10. Sunshade Support
Removal and Installation
1. Remove attaching screws and support.
NOTE: On 67 styles, raise top before re-
moving support.
2. To install, position support and install at-
taching screws.
11. Windshield Reveal Moldings
Removal and Installation
The windshield reveal moldings consist of a
one-piece upper, right and left side, and right and
left lower moldings. On all styles except 67 styles
the upper reveal moldings are secured to the
openings by clips. On 67 styles the upper reveal
molding is secured to the upper windshield frame
by screws at each end and studs and nuts in the
center. The side reveal moldings on 67 styles are
secured to the windshield pillars by screws, which
are hidden by the windshield pillar weatherstrip
retainers. The lower reveal moldings on all.
styles are secured to the upper shroud assembly
by screws through the molding clip tabs.
NOTE: The outermost attaching screw on
each side of the lower molding is hidden by the
front fender and may be removed by opening the
front door. The outer molding clips are slotted,
allowing removal of the molding without com-
pletely removing the attaching screw, Fig. 16-8.
a. Removal
1. Place protective covering over hood and
front fenders.
2. Remove windshield wiper arms, escutcheon
nuts &nd escutcheons.
3. Remove ventilator frame attaching screws.
4. Remove frame with grille.
CAUTION: Care should be exercised to
make certain ventilator frame does not contact
hood, chipping paint.
5. Remove lower reveal molding attaching
screws except end screws, open door, loosen both
end attaching screws, and lift up molding, dis-
engaging slotted clip from screws, and remove
molding, Fig. 16-8.
NOTE: Do not remove molding end attaching
screws completely from body.
