5.10 PISTON CHECK

5.10.1 PISTON PIN BORE

1. Measure the I.D. of the piston pin bore (lengthwise
and widthwise of the piston) with a cylinder gauge.
2. If the measured value exceeds the allowable limit,
replace the piston.

5.10.2 CLEARANCE BETWEEN PISTON PIN
AND BUSHING
1. Measure the piston pin O.D. with an outside mi-
crometer.
2. Measure the piston pin busing I.D. with an inside
micrometer.
3. If the clearance still exceeds the allowable limit af-
ter replacing the bushing with a new one, replace
the piston pin.
