4. Pull out the oil seal (1), unfold the caulking part of
the caulking nut and unscrew the caulking nut (2).
Then, tap the spiral bevel pinion shaft from outside
the case inward to remove the bevel pinion shaft. If
necessary, remove the taper roller bearing. When
reassembling them, replace the oil seal with a new
one and apply a suffi cient amount of grease to its
mating surface.
5. If necessary, unscrew the differential lock shift arm
mounting nut (1) (M10, 1 EA), pull out the shift arm
(2) and spring and unscrew the fi xing plate mount-
ing bolt (4) to remove the fi xing plate.

6. Unfold the tab part of the shift arm shaft tongue
washer (1) and remove the shift arm shaft (3) and
shift hook (4) by pulling the shift arm shaft.
Be careful not to miss the O-ring and check its con-
dition. If it is damaged, replace it with a new one.
Before fi tting the new O-ring, apply a small amount
of grease or oil on it.
REMARK
• When installing the shift arm and spring, make
sure that the mark "DIFF" is visible and the
spring hook groove faces upward.
