5.2 CVT ASSEMBLY

1. Loosen the body mounting bolts of the engine front
bracket (1) and engine rear bracket (2).
2. Loosen the mounting bolts of the front mounting bracket
(1), side mounting bracket (2) and rear mounting brack-
et (3) to the CVT assembly.
3. Tighten the CVT internal case(1) bolt temporarily
and fi t the shafts & offset measuring jig to the both
shafts.

4. Tighten the mounting bolts for the gear box and en-
gine bracket as well as the 8 inner cover mounting
bolts. Then, remove the shafts & offset jig. The jig
should be removed easily. Otherwise, fi t and set the
jig to measure the distance again and adjust the
mounting location as necessary.
Distance between shafts A: 327 mm (12.88 in)
Engine mounting bolt & gear box(transmission) bolt (M10)
tightening torque ............... 60.9 ~ 70.6 Nm
5. Apply LOCTITE #242 or equivalent to the mounting
bolt (1) of the CVT drive pulley and tighten it com-
pletely.
Drive pulley mounting bolt (1)
tightening torque ..............54.0 Nm
