2.2 PARKING BRAKE

Operation
When the parking brake lever is pulled up, the cam lever
(3) is rotated by the cable. The cam lever and bracket (4)
are equipped with the steel ball pockets and the steel ball is
seated in center in a normal state as shown in the fi gure A.
When the parking brake lever is pulled up and the cam lever
is rotated, the steel ball is pushed to the edge of the pock-
ets of the cam lever and bracket and the force in the driving
direction is applied to the cam lever and bracket. This force
compresses the brake pad of the back of the cam lever
against the disc, resulting in a braking force generated.
