• The hydraulic pump is driven by the fuel camshaft
in the engine. The fuel camshaft rotates at half
speed of the engine. However, the rotating speed
is increased by the 29 gear (1) and 18 gear (2) to
drive the hydraulic pump.
Engine 2800rpm
Engine and gear pump speed ratio 1: 0.805
2800 x 1/2 x 29/18 = 2255 rpm

The hydraulic pump is always driven as long as the
engine is running to draw the oil from the oil tank
through its top and supply it to the valve through its
bottom port.
