5. DISASSEMBLY, SERVICE AND ASSEMBLY

5.1 REAR WHEEL BRAKE REMOVAL (BRAKE PAD AND DISC REPLACEMENT)

Remove the axle cap (1). Then, remove the ball
joint bolt mounting split pin and slotted nut (2).
REMARK
Do not disconnect the brake hose while replacing
the brake pad.
If the hose is disconnected, bleed the hose.

Unscrew the brake caliper mounting bolts (1) (M8, 2
EA) to remove the brake caliper (2) from the brake
disc assembly (3).
When installing the brake caliper, apply LOCTITE
#242 or equivalent to the threads of its mounting
bolts (1) and tighten its bolts to the specifi ed torque.
Mounting bolt (M8)
tightening torque ......................24.0 Nm

Unscrew the brake disc mounting bolts (1) to re-
move the disc. When tightening the bolts, apply
LOCTITE #242 or equivalent to their threads and
tighten them to the specifi ed torque.
Mounting bolt (M8)
tightening torque .....................24.0 Nm
IMPORTANT
Use the reamer bolts (2) for two holes among the five
bolt mounting holes. The reamer bolt mounting holes are
machined larger than the normal bolt mounting holes.
Make sure to check the bolt hole size during installation.
