Sync Mode -
Reference Clock
With several connected instruments the connecting cables from the master instrument
NOTICE
to the slave instrument must be of same length and type, concerning both, the REF-
OUT to REF-IN connection and the MARKER1 to TRIG connection.
Avoid unnecessary cable lengths and branching points.

Selects the mode for synchronization with other R&S AFQ
I/Q Modulation Generators. This clock is used for synchronizing
several connected R&S AFQ I/Q Modulation Generators (see also the
following section

Note:
The synchronization of several connected R&S AFQ
I/Q Modulation Generators requires the Baseboard Revision 8 or
higher. Up to baseboard Revision 5 only synchronization mode
normal is provided (stand-alone mode).
The instrument is working in stand-alone mode.
Normal
Remote-control command:
SOUR:ROSC:SYNC:MODE NORM
The instrument provides all connected instruments
Master
with its reference clock signal.
Remote-control command:
SOUR:ROSC:SYNC:MODE MAST
(Ref. clock external only)
Slave
The instrument receives the clock signal from another
R&S AFQ I/Q Modulation Generator (Master).
Remote-control command:
SOUR:ROSC:SYNC:MODE SLAV
(Ref. clock external only)
Last Slave
This instrument receives the clock signal from another
R&S AFQ I/Q Modulation Generator. It is appointed to
be the last one in the chain of the connected
R&S AFQs.
Remote-control command:
SOUR:ROSC:SYNC:MODE LAST
