Calibrating tools

In order to determine the tool coordinates X and Z and store them in the tool table,
you can calibrate the tool with the Set tool data function on the lathe

Selecting a tool

The currently selected tool is displayed on the status bar. Here you can also access
the tool table where you can select the tool you want to use. The associated tool
parameters are applied automatically.

Tap Manual operation in the main menu
The user interface for Manual mode appears
Tap Auxiliary functions in the status bar
Tap Tool data in the dialog box
The Set tool data dialog opens
Move the tool to the desired position
Tap Save position
The current position of the tool is saved
Retract the tool to a safe position
Enter the desired position data in the input fields
Tap Confirm in the wizard
The Select the tool dialog box appears
Select the desired tool in the Selected tool input field:
To overwrite an existing tool, select an entry from the tool
table
To add a new tool, enter a number that has not yet been
assigned in the tool table and confirm by pressing RET
Tap Confirm in the wizard
The probed coordinates are adopted for the tool
The setup engineer (Setup) may have already made the settings in the
tool table.

Tap Tools on the status bar
The Tools dialog box appears
Tap the tool you want to use
Tap Confirm
The associated tool parameters are applied automatically
The selected tool is shown on the status bar
Mount the desired tool on the machine tool
