Overview

This chapter describes the Manual operation mode and how to execute simple
machining operations in this mode on a workpiece.
Short description
By traversing the reference marks on the encoder scales, you make it possible to
define an absolute position. When you have completed the reference mark search in
Manual mode, you then set the presets that will be used as the basis for machining
the workpiece in accordance with the drawing.
Position measurement and tool selection for simple machining operations in Manual
mode are described below.

Make sure that you have read and understood the "Basic operation"
chapter before carrying out the actions described below.

Presetting in the Manual Operation mode is required in order to use the
product in MDI mode.
For encoders with EnDat interface, the reference mark search is omitted
because the axes are referenced automatically.
