5.16 How to Remove / Re-install the Image Printer Card Cleaning Roller
(EC2000 with ECP2, EC3000)
Approximate time to remove: 2 minutes plus any sub-procedures
Approximate time to re-install: 4 minutes plus any sub-procedures
EC3000's card cleaning roller, located near the entrance of the image printer, removes lint and other
particles from the surfaces of card stock before printing. If a cleaning roller is damaged or worn, it should
be replaced.
To replace the card cleaning roller, follow these steps:
1) Obtain a replacement card cleaning roller.
2) Open the top access door.
3) Open the image printer and remove the ribbon (see D998200281 ExpressCard 3000 Installation
and Operation Manual).
4) Rotate the large gear at the entrance on the right side of the image printer until you see the large
plastic shield labeled
5) Hold the gear while pushing the shield to the right to release the roller, and remove it.
6) Press the new roller into the same slot.
7) Re-install the ribbon and close the image printer.
8) Close the top access door.
9) On the touchscreen, navigate to
functions properly and the sample looks correct. If the sample does not look correct (e.g., images do
not print correctly), contact MagTek Support Services for assistance.
