5 - Removal and Re-installation
To replace the EC2000 image print head, follow these steps:
1) Make sure the image printer looks like the one below. Colors may vary, but the shape should not. If
the image printer you are replacing looks different, see section 5.17 How to Remove / Re-Install the
Image Print Head (EC2000 with ECP2, EC3000).
2) Obtain a replacement image print head.
3) Write down or take a photo of the code shown on the white label stuck on the new print head. You
will be asked for this code in a later step after the image printer is closed.
4) Open EC2000's top access door (see D99875600 EC2000 Installation and Operation Manual for
details).
5) Unplug EC2000's power cable from the wall outlet.
6) Open the image printer (see section D99875600 E2000 Installation and Operation Manual for
details).
7) Find the print head (see Figure 5-56).
8) Press in on the forks facing the right of the printer. The print head will move inward with a springy
resistance. Guide the whole print head assembly out of the groove that locks it in place.
9) Tilt the head carefully, and gently disconnect the cable without using force on the mechanism.
