Specifying the units of measurement (optional)

The units of measurement in the FCT plug-in CMMP-AS are defined by the following settings:
– selection of the axle – linear or rotational units.
– optional: Specify the units of measurement (Menu [Component] [Units of measurement] ) – metric/
imperial units (mm/inches), decimal places.
4.3.4 Accepting the safety module
For functional safety, the request requires modifications to be traceable. To guarantee this, the specific­
ations for module type, serial number and version are stored in the safety module. This data is read out
in the motor controller and permanently saved when the module is taken over. This enable a modifica­
tion to the components to be detected.
In online mode, information on the versions is displayed on the "Device information" page.

Taking over the safety module
When an invalid change is detected, e.g. a module replacement, a non-acknowledgeable error is
triggered. To be able to place the application with the motor controller back in operation, the modifica­
tion must be "configured". That means, the modification must be explicitly accepted or confirmed. With
the safety or switch modules, these traceable modifications relate to a module replacement.
The following rules apply to module replacement:
– it is always possible to replace a microswitch module with another microswitch module.
– a module replacement of CAMC-G-S1 with another CAMC-G-S1 does not normally
need confirmation.
Exception: The version check in the basic test shows that the modules are incompat­
ible - error message 51-3 - meaning that the module change must be confirmed.
– when a module type is replaced with another type – error message 51-2 – the module
replacement must always be confirmed.
– when a module CAMC-G-S3 is replaced with CAMC-G-S3 – error message 51-6 – the
module replacement must also always be confirmed.
