DTC 13-1 (Driven pulley sensor circuit
no signal)
• Before starting troubleshooting, check for loose
or poor contacts on the following connectors,
then recheck.
– Driven pulley sensor 10P (Black) connector
– PCM 21P (Black) connector
• Check the drive belt for wear or damage.
• If there are metal deposits or dust on the driven
pulley sensor plate or driven pulley sensor,
incorrect output voltage may be measured. If so,
remove and clean them.
1. Driven Pulley Sensor Peak Voltage Inspection at
PCM
Disconnect the PCM 21P (Black) connector (page
24-12).
Connect the peak voltage tester or peak voltage
adaptor to the digital tester.
Measure the peak voltage at the PCM 21P con-
nector terminals.
TOOL:
Test probe
CONNECTION: Yellow (+) – Green/white (–)
Place the scooter on its center stand.
Start the engine, and measure the peak voltage
at the idle.
STANDARD: 0.7 V minimum
Is the voltage as specified?
YES
– Replace the PCM with a known good
one, and recheck.
NO
– GO TO STEP 2.
2. Driven Pulley Sensor Peak Voltage Inspection at
Driven Pulley Sensor
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the driven pulley sensor 10P (Black)
connector.
Connect the peak voltage adaptor to the driven
pulley sensor 10P (Black) connector terminals at
the sensor side.
CONNECTION: Yellow (+) – Green (–)
Place the scooter on its center stand.
Start the engine, and measure the peak voltage
at the idle.
STANDARD: 0.7 V minimum
Is the voltage as specified?
YES
– • Open or short circuit in Yellow wire
• Open circuit in Green wire
NO
– Faulty driven pulley sensor
