COOLING SYSTEM
MECHANICAL SEAL REPLACEMENT
Remove the mechanical seal using special tools.
TOOLS:
Bearing remover head, 14 mm
Bearing remover shaft, 15 mm
Remover weight
Remove the oil seal.
Blow the inspection hole in the crankcase cover with
compressed air to clean it.
Apply oil to the seal lips and outer surface of a new
oil seal.
Install the oil seal with the marking facing up until it
is fully seated using special tools.
TOOLS:
Driver
Attachment, 24 x 26 mm
Install a new mechanical seal to the right crankcase
cover.
TOOL:
Mechanical seal driver
INSTALLATION
Degrease the pump shaft thoroughly and apply
molybdenum oil solution to the water pump shaft
rolling area and thrust washer sliding surface.
• Do not apply molybdenum oil solution to the
mechanical seal sliding area.
