SERVICE INFORMATION
GENERAL
Frequent inhalation of brake pad dust, regardless of material composition, could be hazardous to your health.
• Avoid breathing dust particles.
• Never use an air hose or brush to clean brake assemblies. Use and OSHA-approved vacuum cleaner.
• This section covers the front wheel, fork, handlebar and steering stem.
• When servicing the front wheel, fork or steering stem, support the scooter using a jack or other support is required.
• A contaminated brake disc or pad reduces stopping power. Discard contaminated pads and clean a contaminated disc
with a high quality brake degreasing agent.
• After installing the front wheel, check the brake operation by applying the brake lever.
• Use only tires marked "TUBELESS" and tubeless valves on rim marked "TUBELESS TIRE APPLICATION".
• When using the pin spanner, use a deflecting beam type torque wrench 25 cm (10 in) long. The pin spanner increases
the torque wrench's leverage, so the torque wrench reading will be less than the torque actually applied to the steering
stem adjusting nut. The specification given is the actual torque applied to the adjusting nut, not the reading on the
torque wrench. Do not overtighten the adjusting nut. The specification later in the text gives both actual and indicated
torque.
