The ignition switch cannot be turned ON
1. Battery Inspection
Remove the battery (page 19-6).
Make sure the battery is fully charged and good condition.
Is the battery in good condition?
YES – GO TO STEP 2.
NO – Charge or replace the battery (page 19-6).
2. Ignition Switch Inspection
Check if the ignition switch can be pushed.
Can the ignition switch be pushed?
YES – GO TO STEP 3.
NO – Faulty handle lock module
3. Ignition Switch Light Inspection 1
Check if the ignition switch light (Blue LED) turns on when the ignition switch is pushed.
Does the ignition switch light (Blue LED) turn on?
YES – GO TO STEP 4.
NO – GO TO STEP 5.
4. Ignition Switch Light Inspection 2
Check if the ignition switch light (Blue LED) starts blinking thirty seconds after the ignition switch is
pushed.
Does the ignition switch blinks?
YES – • NSS250S: Inspect the EM connector line (page 23-25).
• NSS250A: Inspect the EM connector line (page 23-25).
NO – Faulty handle lock module
5. Card Key Battery Inspection
Replace the card key battery with a new one and turn the ignition switch ON.
Does the ignition switch turn on?
YES – Discharged Card Key battery.
NO – GO TO STEP 6.
6. Card Key Inspection
Turn the ignition switch ON by using the another registered card key.
Does the ignition switch turn on?
YES – Faulty original card key
NO – GO TO STEP 7.
7. Emergency Mode Inspection
Check if the ignition switch can be turned ON when in Emergency Mode.
Does the ignition switch turn on?
YES – GO TO STEP 11.
NO – GO TO STEP 8.
8. Fuse Inspection
Check for blown SMART KEY fuse (10 A).
Is the fuse blown?
YES – Replace the fuse.
NO – GO TO STEP 9.
