Honda Smart Card Key System
EMERGENCY MODE
Ignition Switch Turning Procedure
(Without Using the Registered Card
Key):
1. Check the ID number on the ID tag or the inside
of the Smart Card Key.
2. Use the mechanical key to open the front seat.
3. Remove the battery band (page 19-6).
Disconnect the dummy connector from the EM
connector and connect the short connector of the
tool kit to the EM connector.
• When the short connector is connected to the EM
connector, it becomes impossible to start the
Honda Smart Card Key System by registered
card key.
4. Push the ignition switch.
• When the ID number input mode starts success-
fully, ignition switch light (Blue LED) starts to
stay on.
• If the ignition switch light (Blue LED) does not
come on, inspect the handle lock module power
circuit (page 23-19).
5. Press the seat lock release button desired num-
ber times and then push the ignition switch once
to fix.
• When the ID number is "012345", Push the igni-
tion switch once without pressing the seat lock
release button. This operation indicates "0". Then
Push the seat lock release button once and press-
ing the ignition switch once. This operation indi-
cates "1". Then Push the seat lock release button
twice and pressing the ignition switch once. This
operation indicates "2". Input the remaining
numbers by following the procedure mentioned
before.
• If the ID input is unsuccessful, ignition switch
light (Blue LED) blinks. Disconnect the short con-
nector and then repeat step 3 through step 5.
6. If the click is heard, turn the ignition switch ON
within a few seconds.
• If the click is heard, ID input is successful.
• If the click is heard but the ignition switch is not
turned ON within a few seconds, ignition switch
light (Blue LED) blinks. Disconnect the short con-
nector and then repeat step 3 through step 5.
7. Disconnect the short connector and connect the
dummy connector.
Install the battery band (page 19-6).
