HYDRAULIC BRAKE
• Be sure that each parts is free from the dust or
dirt before reassembly.
Coat a new dust seal with silicone grease.
Coat a new piston seal with clean brake fluid.
Install the piston seal and dust seal into the seal
grooves in the caliper cylinder.
Coat the caliper piston with clean brake fluid and
install them into the caliper cylinder with the open-
ing sides toward the pad.
Install the pad retainers onto the caliper bracket.
Check the caliper/bracket pin boots and replace
them if they are hard, deteriorated or damage.
Apply 0.4 g (0.01 oz) minimum of silicone grease to
the caliper/bracket pin boots, and install them into
the caliper body and bracket.
Install the caliper pin into the pin boot.
Install the caliper bracket to the caliper body.
INSTALLATION
Install the rear brake pads (page 17-15).
Connect the brake hose to the rear brake caliper
with the oil bolt and new sealing washers.
Set the hose joint onto the stopper and tighten the
oil bolt to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 34 N·m (3.5 kgf·m, 25 lbf·ft)
Fill and bleed the left (combined) brake line hydrau-
lic system (page 17-11).
Install the muffler (page 3-33).
