Honda S Matic System (NSS250A)
When retrieving the stored DTC, refer to the follow-
ing procedures.
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and remove the bat-
tery cover (page 19-6)
2. Remove the dummy connector and short DLC
terminals using a special tool.
TOOL:
SCS connector
CONNECTION: Brown – Green/black
3. Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop
switch " ", read the gear position indicator "F"
blinks. The number of blinks indicates the stored
DTC. For Honda S Matic DTC index (page 24-13).
ERASING DTC
• When erasing the Honda S Matic System DTC as
follows, the PGM-FI DTC would also be erased at
the same time, check the MIL blinks and trouble-
shoot the PGM-FI system before readout/erasing
the Honda S Matic DTC.
Connect the HDS Pocket Tester to the DLC (page 24-
9).
Erase the DTC's with the HDS while the engine is
stopped.
To erase the DTC's without HDS, refer to the follow-
ing procedure.
How to erase the DTC without HDS
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Remove the battery cover (page 19-6).
3. Remove the dummy connector and short the
Brown and Green/black wire terminals of the DLC
using a special tool.
TOOL:
SCS connector
CONNECTION: Brown – Green/black
4. Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop
switch is turned " ".
5. Remove the special tool from the DLC.
