ELECTRIC STARTER
Align the index marks on the front cover, motor
case and rear cover.
Install the bolts and tighten them to the specified
torque.
TORQUE: 4.9 N·m (0.5 kgf·m, 3.6 lbf·ft)
INSTALLATION
Apply oil to a new O-ring and install it to the groove
of the front cover.
Apply oil to armature shaft teeth.
Install the starter motor to the crankcase.
Install the ground cables and bolts to the starter

Tighten the bolts securely.

Connect the starter motor cable and install and
tighten the nut securely.
Cover the terminal cover.
Install the following:
– Left side rear cover (page 4-15)
– Connect the battery negative cable (page 19-6)
