Analog Telephone Network
To make a telephone call, the calling party and called party each must have a
telephone. These telephones must be connected by a transmission route. The
transmission route includes switches located at the central offices. The route
itself comprises various components such as metallic and optical cables. The
entire transmission path between the two telephones is called an analog
telephone network.
An analog telephone network comprises of four parts: Telephone Set, Switch,
Subscriber Line, and Transmission Route.
