DTC Troubleshooting (cont'd)
DTC 50 to 62: Central Processing Unit (CPU)
1. Clear the DTC.
2. Start the engine.
3. Wait at least 10 seconds.
Does the EPS indicator come on?
YES Go to step 4.
NO Check for loose wires or poor connections. lf
the connections are good, the system is OK at this

4. Verify the DTC.
ls DTC 50 to 62 indicated?
YES Check for loose EPS control unitconnectors.
lf necessary, substitute a known-good EPS control
u n i t a n d r e c h e c k . I
NO- Perform the appropriate troubleshooting for
the code indicated.l

Troubleshooting
1 . T u r n t h e i g n i t l o n s w i t c h O N ( l l ) , s t a r t t h e e n g i n e ,
and watch the EPS indicator.
Does the EPS indicator come on?
YES- lf the EPS indicalor comes on and goes off, it's
OK. lf the EPS indicator stays on or blinks, go to
step 13.
NO Go to step 2.
2. Turn the ignition switch OFF, then ON (ll) again,
and watch the brake system indicator.
Does the brake system indicatot come on?
YES Go to step 3.
NO Repair open in the indicator power source

. Open in the wire between the INSTRUMENT

. Open circuit inside the under-dash fuse/relay box.
3. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

a s s e m o r y .
ls the bulb OK?
YES - Go to step 5.
N O R e p l a c e t h e E P S i n d i c a t o r b u l b . t
