switch harness 2P connector.

NO--Repair an open in the wire between the VTEC

Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the VTEC solenoid valve 1P connector.
Check for continuity on the VTEC solenoid valve
between the solenoid valve 1P connector terminal
and body ground.

Reconnect the VTEC solenoid valve 1P connector
and VTEC oil pressure switch 2P connector.
Connect a tachometer.
Warm up the engine to normal operating

Check oil pressure at engine speeds of 1,000, 2,000
a n d 5 , 0 0 0 r p m . K e e p m e a s u r i n g t i m e a s s h o r t a s

l o a d ( l e s s t h a n 1 m i n u t e ) .
ls pressure below 49 kPa (0.5 kgf/cnf ,7 psi)?
YES Go to step 19.
NO Inspect the VTEC solenoid valve {see page 6'

Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the VTEC solenoid valve 1P connector.
Attach the battery positive cable to the VTEC
s o l e n o i d v a l v e t e r m i n a l .

speed of 5,000 rpm.
ls pressute above 390 kPa (4.0 kgf/cm' , 57 psi)?
