Vehicle Speed Signal Circuit Troubleshooting
Note; lf the MIL indicator is ON, troubleshoot the PGM-
Fl problem first.
1 . R a i s e t h e v e h i c l e , a n d m a k e s u r e i t i s s e c u r e l y
supponed.
2. Disconnect the VSS 3P connector.
3 . T u r n t h e i g n i t i o n s w i t c h O N { l l } .
Check for voltage between the VSS 3P conneclor
N o . 3 t e r m i n a l a n d b o d y g r o u n d .
VSS 3P CONNECTOR
ls thete less than 1 V?
YES Go to step 5.
NO Repair open or high resistance in the BRN/
YEL wire between the VSS and G 101. I

5. Measure voltage between the VSS 3P connector
N o . 1 t e r m i n a l a n d b o d y g r o u n d
VSS 3P CONNECTOR
ls thete apptox. 5 V?
YES Go to step 6.
NO- Repair shon in the YEUBLU wire between
t h e V S S a n d t h e E C M . I
